Meet our principal dentist Dr Louis Chan

Louis has a special interest in holistic dentistry including Orthodontics and TMJ treatment. Since 1998, he has been searching for treatments which are holistic to help children and adults to development well with great facial balance and a healthy body.

After many continuing education courses in a variety of fields, in 2011 and 2012, he decided to complete all 7 core courses at LVI Australia in neuromuscular dentistry and graduated in 29th LVI Core 7 group in the world. Learn more

Louis likes to spend his spare time with family traveling and taking photos and also enjoys racing cars.

Meet Dr Smith

After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney Dr Smith started his career with the Australian Defence Force as a Lieutenant in the Navy. During his first two years, he was mentored in all aspects of clinical dentistry by specialists in Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics before moving onto the fleet team where he spent a brief stint as the Acting Fleet Dental Surgeon.

After the Navy Dr Smith worked in a few private practices where he honed his skills in implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr Smith has attended many continuing education courses in a variety of fields and recently graduated with Distinction from Charles Sturt University with a Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Implantology. Dr Smith has a driving passion to provide the most up to date and conservative dentistry for his patients and is in the process of completing a Master’s Degree in Aesthetic Dentistry with the Prestigious Kings College in London.

In his spare time Dr Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Meet Maria Iza Vargas

Maria Iza Vargas graduated from University of Sydney (2012) with a Bachelor’s degree in Oral Health making her a dual qualified Dental Hygienist and Therapist. Her specialty is in the field of Periodontics, treating gum conditions for all ages while educating and guiding patients on how to maintain healthy teeth and gums. She also specialises in Paediatric dentistry, providing treatment for children and adolescents up to the age of 17. She is passionate about working with children with an emphasis on preventive care and helping them to feel good about visiting the dentist.

Prior to studying Oral Health, Iza also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science (2008) and worked as a dental assistant/receptionist at Mydental Care. She is a member of the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia and the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists’ Association.

In her spare time, Iza enjoys catching up with family and friends. She loves going on food trips and travelling back to the Philippines where she grew up.

Insignia is a program which enables the high-tech creation and placement of braces which are made uniquely for your smile. Dr Louis Chan will use this fully interactive software at either his Meadowbank or Strathfield locations to create a virtual ‘map’ of your smile and maloclussion. You will see a virtual display of your smile on the unique software and Dr Chan will explain how your treatment will work and show you how it will look once installed in your mouth and once treatment is complete.

Insignia is computer-aided orthodontics to ensure a more precise and clinical result that is much more predictable than traditional orthodontics. Your treatment will be performed with maximum efficiency and comfort as most of the technical components will be determined in the program before placement even begins.

Cone Beam Scanner

Our cone beam scanner allows our dental professionals to create a comprehensive 3D image of your oral area. This allows our team to plan and execute complex procedures such as full mouth reconstructions with much greater accuracy.
